Strategies for Students living with Emotional Disturbance (ED)
Puppetry!
Have trouble sharing your feelings? Want to share how you feel but you are scared how others will react?
TRY PUPPETRY! Either buy a puppet or make your own and use it to help you express your feelings to others (parents, adults, teachers, friends, etc). Puppets can create an easy outlet for students that are uncomfortable talking to others!

Music Therapy
Use music to dance out all of your wiggles or just to calm yourself down!
Listen to your favorite song when you are upset.
Ask your parents permission to create your own kid friendly playlist on iTunes (www.itunes.com) or GrooveShark (www.grooveshark.com)
Talk to your parents about the power of music therapy!
